Welcome to First Christian Church.  I’m so glad that you’re with us this weekend.

Our stated purpose is that we exist to lead people to trust God.  Learning to trust God is not only important for the here and now but for eternity.

Our current message series is called Wasted Opportunities. This weekend we will look at a story that Jesus directed to the most religious people of that day.  The story they heard was grotesque and disturbing.  What’s more disturbing is the point of Jesus’ story was heard with no effect.

Jesus’ story reminds us that decisions and choices related to eternity are made in this life and that they are Irreversible.  Jesus’ story also reminds us that there is an eternal destiny that will be more miserable than anyone can imagine, it can be avoid but some will be shocked to find themselves there.

One man in Jesus’ story was convinced that if someone could come back from the dead that it would cause others to see things differently.  Would it?  Did it?  Has it?

Wasted Opportunities are Irreversible. It’s my prayer that our time together this weekend will help us see the impact of our everyday ordinary life choices and decisions on the here and now and for eternity.
